Flak Jackets

Yes…yes… there is a little creative word play here, but the truth is, they're called "jackets" for a reason!

We don't coat the string with a sleeve coating (a coating that wraps the string like a sock). Instead, we "jacket" the individual string winding with a polymer that keeps dirt and oil out; while retaining the traditional acoustic sound.

See? We "jacket" the string to keep the "flak" off! Clever, right?

You'll find that because we "jacket" the string instead of coating the string like a sock, Flak Jackets don't have the "dead thud" sound that some coated strings have.
